Legislative counsel Hillary Cheddar Ames said the bill "makes some changes relating to improving the training for the board" and creates a pilot project to secure outside counsel.
H.559 would add a training responsibility to the corrections commissioner's statutory duties and require that, "at least annually, each member of the parole board shall attend trainings designated by the parole board director in collaboration with the chair."
