The Washington Elementary School District governing board announced three finalists in its superintendent search during the March 26 meeting and invited the public to a finalist reception and community meeting April 1 from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at Royal Palm Middle School.
President Kyle Clayton summarized the process: the board engaged search firm McPherson & Jacobson in December, received 35 applicants, and reviewed a short list of seven before selecting three finalists. The finalists named by the board were Dr. Monica Mason, Dr. Michael Rivera and Dr. Gareth Zierbach.
Clayton said the April 1 event will include brief introductions, a short Q&A and time for community members to provide feedback to the board. The finalists will also meet with the cabinet team, principals and the IBN team prior to their board interviews.
Next steps: community feedback collected at the April 1 reception will be provided to the board as it moves toward a final selection and any subsequent formal employment action.
