The Deptford Township Board of Education approved a broad slate of personnel actions on March 17, including resignations, terminations, leaves of absence, transfers, hires, promotions and long-term substitute assignments.
Approved separations included several resignations and two terminations recorded by employee ID. The board also approved numerous leaves under FMLA and NJFLA, with specific start/end dates and several revisions to previously approved leaves.
On hires and promotions, the board approved the hiring of David Andrews as Transportation Supervisor (start date to be determined) at a salary of $85,000 pending criminal-history clearance; Edward Knecht Jr. was promoted from Maintenance Worker to Facilities Manager effective March 18 at a prorated $100,000 salary. The board also approved multiple paraprofessional transfers and new positions (1:1 paraprofessionals), authorization to hire substitute teachers, and other staff replacements and additions as listed in the personnel attachments. All personnel motions were approved by roll call vote (8-0).
The agenda included administrative adjustments such as rescindments of previously approved personnel items, adjustments to sick-day donations for named employee IDs, and authorization to pay staff for professional-development instruction at contracted hourly rates.
