Deptford Board accepts 2024–25 audit, approves corrective action plan

The Deptford Township Board of Education voted 8–0 on March 17 to accept the school district's 2024–25 Annual School District Audit prepared by Bowman & Company and to approve a corrective action plan (CAP) signed by the superintendent and the school business administrator.
The audit and CAP were presented to the board by Carisa Rose, the district's School Business Administrator and Board Secretary. The board's Finance Committee recommended acceptance of the audit and the CAP, and Linda Rosser moved the motion with James McDevitt seconding. The motion carried on a roll call vote of eight in favor, none opposed.
The board's acceptance affirms the audit report and authorizes the administration to implement the CAP's steps as described in the presentation. The board secretary certified, elsewhere on the agenda, that monthly financial reports for January and February 2026 are in accordance with 18A:17-36 and 18A:17-9 and that no line-item accounts had been over-expended for the reported months.
By accepting the CAP, the board directed district administration to carry out the corrective steps outlined by the auditors and report back as required. No vote details beyond the roll call tally were recorded in the minutes.
The board then proceeded to other finance business, including vendor renewals and awards related to next year's auditing services.
