Members of the Charlton Select Board met jointly with the Finance Committee on April 28 to review and finalize the warrant for the upcoming annual town meeting. The Finance Committee recorded votes to support articles in grouped motions, and the Select Board subsequently voted to support many of the same articles.
Committee members said articles handled included town reports (article 2), and bundled recommendations in groups (articles 3–6 and articles 8–14) where appropriate. The Finance Committee used bundled motions to recommend support for the bundles; votes were taken by roll call and recorded as unanimous for the motions on the floor. The Select Board then moved to support the same groups and recorded unanimous support in the meeting for the motions that were presented.
The board and committee noted that article 7 (the town budget) was already supported and that the planning-board articles and any citizen petitions would follow their respective review processes. Members also discussed bundling strategy to streamline the warrant presentation at town meeting.
The meeting adjourned with the finance committee and select board ready to present the finalized warrant at the May 18 town meeting and with the select board's next meeting scheduled for May 12.
