Council renews Glendora Village BID assessment after single protest

Management analyst Chantal Correa explained the annual renewal process, noting the BID funds marketing, events, beautification and economic activity in the village area. Notices were mailed to affected businesses and the BID board previously adopted an annual budget and report earlier in the year.
Staff reported one written protest from Easyfix Glendora representing 0.79% of assessed value, which did not meet the majority protest threshold required under state law to halt the assessment. With no public speakers on the item, Councilmember Alawas moved to adopt the resolution and Councilmember Thompson seconded; the council voted 5–0 to approve the levy and collection for fiscal year 2026–27.
The council thanked the BID board, noted incoming village events (including a planned farmer’s market), and directed staff to tabulate protests and return any necessary documentation to the record. The resolution authorizes staff to levy and collect assessments in the absence of a majority protest.
