Commissioners approve adding six acres to Camp Trinity lease and authorize soil testing

"The septic system is gonna be about 450,000," Strong said while describing the scale of disturbance and construction expected.
Commissioners expressed concern about the size and long‑term county exposure — the county retains ownership of the land under the proposed lease — and asked for an appraisal and a formal lease to be prepared. Supporters noted Camp Trinity's expanding programming and community use, and commissioners said they would require the formal lease document and a public meeting prior to final approval of construction work.
A motion to add the six acres to Camp Trinity's lease and to allow soil testing was moved, seconded and approved by voice vote. County staff will prepare lease paperwork and bring the item back with required appraisals and a public meeting date.
