Commission hears APD transparency update, personnel changes and council move to remove defunct neighborhood-watch signs

A city council liaison (speaker 10) told the commission that the council passed a January resolution asking the city to remove all neighborhood-watch signs because many were no longer connected to active programs and could make some residents feel unwelcome; the liaison said the last sign of that program was ceremonially removed last week.
Commissioners also requested a step-by-step training session on the APD dashboard so members would have uniform access and understanding. One commissioner noted that the city budget includes funding for a records management system (RMS), and the commission discussed the possibility of reiterating support in an upcoming update.
With no quorum, the group recorded the briefings for the record and agreed to coordinate dashboard training and continued outreach with the city's communications staff. No formal actions or votes on policy or budget items were taken at the meeting.
