Kaufman County commissioners on April 21 awarded bid 2026-002 for the Lower East Fork Lateral Site No. 2 to Beavers Contracting and authorized the county judge to execute the contract after legal review.
Lorena, the county procurement presenter, told the court the county received five bids and that Beavers Contracting submitted the lowest bid at $840,004.85. "I recommend the award to Beavers Contracting and request authorization for the county to sign the contract once legal completes their record," she said.
The court approved the award by voice vote.
Lorena also presented a request to purchase two new Caterpillar backhoes for Road & Bridge Precinct 3. The list price for the equipment was $304,005.62 with a trade-in credit of $235,000, producing a net county cost of $69,005.62. She said the purchase met specifications and procurement requirements; commissioners approved the purchase by voice vote.
Both approvals were routine procurement actions the court carried at the meeting.
