Kaufman County commissioners approve consent items, reports, contract solicitations and a donation

The court accepted the consent agenda (minutes from the April 7, 2026 meeting and the Star Transit ridership report for March 2026). Courtney Gladney, the collections department presenter, said the office collected $444,748.83 during JanuaryMarch 2026, an increase of 22.93% from the prior quarter and 13.13% from the same period last year. "We did collect a total of $444,748.83," Gladney reported.
The court approved a replat (Lot 12C of Beautiful Acres, Oak Trail, Precinct 4) with staff noting notices were provided per the local government code (cited as 233009). The court also approved accepting a donation of 35 radio holsters from the North Central Texas Council of Governments for use by jail and network staff.
County staff asked to advertise for bids on the countys annual polyurethane contract; staff said the current contract expires May 4 and planned to run the advertisement for two weeks and return the award on May 12. Commissioners approved an interlocal agreement with the City of Post Oak for monthly roadside mowing (the county will be paid by the city), authorized line-item budget transfers after review, and approved claims for payment covering accounts payable, juror payments and payroll.
After the business was completed the court adjourned. Most motions were routine and passed by voice vote; the transcript records the courts responses as "Aye" and "Motion carries."
