Board approves routine consent items, principals’ agreement and adult education pact

The PAYNESVILLE PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT board met and approved routine business including the meeting agenda, consent items and a principals’ master agreement that includes a 1.5% adjustment to the salary schedule.

The meeting opened with the chair calling the session to order and noting all members present except Rod. After no public comment, the board approved the consent agenda following a brief review of routine bills, fire-alarm repairs and team expenses. "Hearing none, motion carries," the chair declared after members voted.

The board then considered a principals' master agreement that administrators described as having minimal contractual changes and a 1.5% salary-schedule increase. A motion to approve the agreement was made and passed without recorded opposition.

Administrators presented the district's continuing participation in an adult basic education consortium, noting the agreement matches prior years with no substantive changes; the board voted to approve the district's participation.

Other routine items approved included recognition related to the Class of 2026 and the recommended section plan for 2026‑27 — the administration recommended three kindergarten sections within a total of 39 sections district-wide based on current projections. The board moved to adopt the presented sections and carried the motion.

The meeting concluded after reminders about a May 12 work session and May 22 graduation logistics; a motion to adjourn passed and the chair closed the meeting.
