The Acadia Parish governing body voted to adopt millage rates for the 2026 tax roll and authorized administrative officials to spread and collect the levies as provided by law.
The presiding officer read the resolution and moved it for adoption. The resolution, as read, included a 4.93‑mill constitutional tax and a 4.81‑mill school maintenance levy, along with district- and ward‑level school levies the presiding officer cited. The motion to adopt the resolution was made and seconded and the chair announced the motion carried.
Committee members were given an opportunity to comment; none raised objections during the motion and vote. The resolution instructs the appropriate administrative officials of Acadia Parish to place the adopted rates on the 2026 assessment roll and to proceed with collection as allowed by law. The board’s formal action creates a permanent lien and privilege on taxable property subject to the levies until collected or otherwise addressed by law.
The resolution was presented to the committee for approval and, after a vocal vote by members, the chair declared the motion carried. The action will be implemented by parish administrative staff in accordance with state law.
