The Howard County Alcohol Beverage Board approved the transfer of a Class B liquor license and a growler permit for the Waterloo Shopping Center establishment to Brew Hive LLC. Counsel Martin Johnson presented the transfer application; proposed resident agent Collidi (Cully) Desatel and Joshua Butts testified as the new owners.
Desatel described operating practices: alcohol is rung in at the bar via the POS system, long‑term stock is locked in a basement closet, and servers who handle alcohol are certified. He said the business enforces ID checks and denies service to intoxicated patrons. “I understand that I am the one that the buck stops with,” Desatel said when describing the responsibilities of the resident agent.
Butts and Desatel told the board they plan to retain existing staff and that the business historically has been violation‑free; board members queried hours, staffing levels and the mix of food and alcohol sales. The board found the applicants fit and proper, approved the transfer and the applicants waived appeal rights.
