A WIC representative told the court that "over a 176 participants were not able to make their appointments because we were closed" and that the WIC grant would cover the overtime cost, including fringe benefits. Commissioners approved the authorization by voice vote; county officials said there would be no cost to the county because the WIC program is funded through the state.
