The Grayson County Commissioners Court voted on Jan. 13 to reappoint Jerry D. Bennett, MD, as the county's local health authority and contract physician.
A presenter asked the court to approve Bennett's reappointment, noting he has served as the local health authority and medical director since September 2011 and is board certified in emergency and family medicine with subspecialty certification in geriatrics. The presenter said the proposed term would end Jan. 13, 2028.
Commissioners moved and seconded the reappointment and the motion carried on a voice vote. The court did not record individual roll-call votes in the transcript.
The reappointment places Bennett in the county role that advises the health department and signs necessary public-health orders and certifications; commissioners thanked him for his service at the meeting.
