Probation reports modest caseload changes; one juvenile in residential treatment

Chuck presented the probation department’s March report. For juveniles he reported 29 court appearances, two detention hearings and 29 referrals (two from the state's attorney's office and 19 from police). Active juvenile caseloads are 87 with eight administrative cases.
On the adult side, Chuck said probation‑related fees ordered in March totaled $9,750 with $28,050 ordered to date; collections in March were $3,097.57 and collected to date $11,225.92. He described active adult caseloads at approximately 477 with 280 administrative cases and said the department is down slightly from February in active caseloads but up in administrative cases.
Chuck said the department has one juvenile court‑ordered residential placement at Chaddock in Quincy; the juvenile is in treatment with no set release date. He also told the board that grant materials for adult and juvenile programs have been submitted and are awaiting approvals from the state and DHS.
