Finance staff updated the committee on the city's participation in opioid abatement settlements and described prior disbursements the city had already received. Staff reported a new settlement with six additional regional distributors totaling $97,625,000; the city’s share from that pot would be "just over $20,000," staff said, and recommended council approve entering the settlement so qualifying abatement programs could use the funds.
Council agreed to forward the settlement to the full council for a vote that evening.
