Parish IT chief outlines CRM rollout, cybersecurity upgrades and camera deployments

Anthony Ayo presented the parish information-technology report on April 20, describing work to strengthen cybersecurity, consolidate networks, and modernize citizen-service tools.

Ayo said the parish completed documentation for a citizens-request management (CRM) system and will begin vendor demos and provider selection with a goal of deploying the system this year to centralize resident service requests. He said consolidated network and disaster-recovery upgrades have been deployed and that the parish's security operation center produced investigations and alerts that helped staff identify potential issues.

"We finished the documentation. We're going into the next phase where we're gonna be choosing a provider and deploying that," Ayo said, adding that the CRM will improve tracking for resident requests and close the feedback loop for items such as pothole repairs.

He described recent camera installations that helped capture vandalism incidents and said the parish will expand cameras to additional sites, upgrade the mobile command unit with Starlink satellite connectivity, and redesign the phone system for greater resiliency. Ayo also said IT is focusing on operational technology security for waterworks and public-works assets.

Councilmembers asked about accessibility and ADA compliance; Ayo said the public information office is leading accessibility efforts and IT will support with software and tools as needed. The presentation was informational and drew some follow-up questions from council members.
