Public health and human services report: measles circulation noted, county earns C‑Stat improvement

Public Health and Human Services officials gave updates to Cheyenne County commissioners on April 20 covering epidemiology, program work and interagency agreements.
Public Health Director Kelli Adamson said measles remains in circulation in Colorado while flu and COVID cases have slowed; two reportable animal bites were recorded and the individuals are recovered. Grant Coordinator Autumn Pelton updated the Board on a community health survey; Adamson has received responses and the Board requested staff email the survey results.
Human Services Director Jane Tallman reported collaboration with Cheyenne Manor that will include policies for supporting facility residents and a small payment from the Colorado Department of Health Care Policy and Financing (HCPF). Tallman said Cheyenne County will receive a plaque recognizing a C‑Stat improvement after the county raised its score from 66 to 92. Both Differential Response community meetings were well attended and Tallman said the county has applied to the State and is awaiting approval.
The Board approved a Purchase of Services contract with DACT LLC for drug and alcohol testing (contract date amended) and MOU Amendment #3 with the Colorado Department of Early Childhood; motions passed. The Board tabled human services financials because a page was missing and requested a complete report by the April 29 meeting. Commissioners also entered executive session under Colorado Revised Statutes for confidential matters and later reconvened.
