Commission approves WEX fuel-card contract, cart-fund adjustment and planner signatory authorization

Purchasing manager Kim recommended awarding the county's fuel-card services to WEX under the State of Missouri contract number CC260007001, saying the arrangement provides net billing of federal excise tax and other applicable taxes and includes additional program features the county uses. Commissioners asked which vehicles are covered; county vehicles and sheriff’s county vehicles were confirmed as included, while municipal fire department vehicles were excluded.
"WEX currently has a contract with the state of Missouri," Kim said, recommending the county adopt that contract for local use.
The commission also approved a budget adjustment for the cart fund after Amy, described as budget staff, said unanticipated receipts and disbursements late in the year pushed the fund over its appropriation and required transfers to cover the shortfall. Commissioners moved, seconded and approved the adjustment.
Separately, Resource Management Director Todd asked the commission to authorize Senior Planner Jacob Phillips to sign approved plans and surveys to reduce delays for citizens needing signatures; the commission voted to grant that signing authority.
