Rhinelander School Board approves payments, Chromebooks, facility repairs and multiple policy actions

At its March 23 meeting the Rhinelander Board approved Feb. payments totaling $1,687,723.34 (claims and contracted services), accepted donations, approved new courses and educational spending, purchased 560 Chromebooks for $171,920, and authorized track and tennis repairs and other policy and contract items.
The Rhinelander School Board approved a slate of routine and capital items on March 23, including payments of claims, equipment purchases, facility repairs and several policy updates.
On a motion by Mike Roberts the board approved February 2026 payments of claims totaling $1,145,373.91 and contracted services totaling $542,349.43, adopted by an 8-0 voice vote. The board accepted gifts and donations including two Newbery Award-winning books and $83.36 from the Oneida County Cope-Mental Health Coalition.
The board approved new Rhinelander High School courses for 2026-27 and authorized up to $125,000 for dual-credit Start College Now coursework for fall 2026. The board approved the purchase of 560 Chromebooks with licenses from BDJ Tech for $171,920 and approved refinishing the RHS outdoor track for $118,162, replacing the Hodag Dome indoor track (net cost after insurance $31,444), and patching/recoating the Hodag Dome tennis courts for $47,870; funding sources were specified in motions (referendum interest earnings or insurance where noted).
Policy actions included approval of second readings for a set of student, finance and relations policies and revisions to administrative, student, and property policies; the board also approved rescinding Policy 9211 (District-Support Organizations). The board approved the CESA 9 2026-27 Shared Services Contract and authorized the superintendent to extend tentative offers of employment to qualified applicants for the 2026-27 school year pending board approval of final hires.
