On a motion by Dr. Mary Lokuta and seconded by Ms. Leslie Wright, the board approved the Consent Calendar by roll call vote. The minutes list donors and amounts accepted by the district, including a $10,150 donation for a wrestling scoreboard system from the Oregon Athletic Boosters, a $4,000 gift from the Abbott Charitable Foundation for classroom needs, and an anonymous $2,000 contribution toward the splashpad. The Consent Calendar also included the approval of prior meeting minutes, safety drill reports for district schools, and the district's school safety audit report.
The board separately moved to receive and approve the June 30, 2024 audited financial statements and management letter and to approve the Fund Balance Report, on a motion from Dr. Lokuta seconded by Ms. Wright; that motion also passed by roll call vote. The audited statements and the Fund Balance Report were provided by district business manager Andy Weiland, as recorded in the minutes.
Votes on the agenda and the Consent Calendar were recorded by roll call as unanimous among voting members present at the time (6-0 for the early votes while one member was absent). After a recess and the arrival of Ms. Krista Flanagan by telephone, the board later approved additional procedural motions and moved into closed session.
