Union County issues $1.94 million Notice of Award for County Road 15 reconstruction; accepts right-of-way donation

The Union County Board of Commissioners on April 28 issued a Notice of Award for the County Road 15 Reconstruction grading contract with a contract price of $1,939,939.00. The board also approved an Agreement for Voluntary Right of Way Donation from Farmers Co-op Society to support the project.
Highway Superintendent Buum presented the project materials. The right-of-way donation covers a perpetual easement and a temporary easement in Section 18-T94N-R50W described in the record; the donation was accepted by motion and recorded as carried.
The board approved Notice of Award for reconstruction grading work at the contract price of $1,939,939.00. Separately, commissioners approved Application for Payment 3 for Structure 64-080-251 in the amount of $76,344.64 and noted the board will hold the 10% retainage fee ($30,699.70) until the area has been seeded; the original contract amount listed for the structure work is $309,071.03.
Commissioners also accepted Equipt Truck & Machinery’s low bid of $137,600 for the purchase and installation of related equipment for highway operations in an earlier motion.
The motions were recorded as carried in the minutes; specific contractor names are recorded in the county’s procurement documents and the Notice of Award language in the minutes.
