Saint Clair Shores plans major street and water work; DPW flags sanitation shortfall

Streets and storm sewers: the department listed a multi-segment plan including significant Jefferson Avenue reconstruction, coordination with federal TIP funding and a Hertel $1 million contribution for streetscape work. Staff noted a busy winter with increased pothole response and many plow operations and said they will prioritize large sections south of Jefferson and work near 11 Mile. Storm-sewer inspections led the department to add line items for open-cut repairs, lining and catch-basin work.
Council members asked staff about sequencing to avoid repeated construction impacts on commercial corridors and asked for breakdowns so businesses can anticipate timing.
