Dispatch staff explained that while the county pays for state programs, a firewall/security‑group configuration is preventing full access: some traffic is not being received by the county’s CAD system, forcing staff to use workaround transfers that slow routine traffic‑stop processing.
"They need the IP source and destination… I will email it over to you," dispatch staff said, asking the commissioners to send a letter on county letterhead that lists who should be authorized for the state security group. Commissioners agreed that a written authorization would be prepared and signed so state technicians can add the appropriate county contacts and resolve the firewall/blocking issue.
