Howard County approves Mint Room license in Glenelg, contingent on naming assistant manager

The Howard County Alcohol Board approved Jan. 27 a Class B on‑sale license for Mint Room (Mint Family 2 LLC) at 3810 Oaks Road in Glenelg, with a condition that the applicants identify and provide the name and address of a designated assistant manager before issuance.

Applicant Arian Anand, sworn at the hearing, said he will serve as the full‑time manager and described point‑of‑sale safeguards that prompt ID checks for alcohol sales and require staff to be certified. Anand told commissioners his staff will include servers who already hold alcohol‑awareness certification and that liquor sales are projected at roughly 5–10% of revenue for the restaurant.

Commissioners pressed for a specific backup manager who can produce records and act as the responsible on‑site contact in the manager’s absence. Anand agreed to the board’s request to name and promote an assistant manager; the board moved and approved the new license with that contingency. Counsel indicated the applicants waived their right to appeal at the hearing.

The clerk will record the named assistant manager’s details in the file; the license will be issued once the administrative condition is satisfied.
