The Des Moines County Board of Supervisors approved a slate of routine financial and personnel items at its Nov. 5 meeting.
Accounts payable claims were presented: $279,773.55 in claims plus a $9,241.22 wire transfer for a total of $289,014.77. A supervisor moved to approve the claims; after a second, roll-call voting recorded affirmative votes by supervisors present.
The board approved the annual weed commissioner's report prepared by Jeff Chase, noting the standard state-required inventory of noxious weeds (thistle, shattercane and others) and approved the weed commissioner certificate and contract information with Jeff Chase listed as county weed commissioner.
Personnel actions included a six-month step increase for Elaine Lutenegger, payroll deputy in the auditor’s office, raising her annual rate from $51,576.74 to $56,101.02; the board approved the increase by motion and roll call.
The board also approved minutes of the Oct. 28, 2025 regular meeting and filed the Veterans Affairs monthly report (October 2025) for public viewing in the auditor’s office.
