The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on Oct. 1 approved sending a final termination letter to the concessionaire who had operated at Cooney Falls, after being told the operator has vacated the site and the county attorney recommended sending a final notice.
Committee member (speaker S3) presented the letter and said, “This is just, the final letter that, we're going to we terminated the lease for the concessionaire at Cooney Falls. And, she's already moved out and stuff.” S3 moved to approve sending the letter; the motion was seconded and approved by the board.
During discussion S3 urged drafting a more tailored contract for future concession agreements that better defines required services for bathrooms and visitor needs rather than a generic profit-making arrangement. No public comment was recorded on the item.
Next steps: staff will forward the final letter as approved and consider revisions to future concession contracts to better reflect the county’s service expectations for tourism-related facilities.
