Lincoln County approves HVAC replacement at North Lincoln County annex after recurring failures

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 1 to replace failing heating and air conditioning equipment at the North Lincoln County Annex, accepting a Comfort Systems estimate of $17,112.

The board heard from Committee member (speaker S2), who described five separate HVAC systems in the annex and said several were not serviceable. “It’s just…it’s junk,” S2 said of one older, ceiling-mounted system and recommended removing the failed cassettes and installing a new forced-air system for the south side of the building. S2 said the proposed replacement would provide heat (9,032 BTU rating referenced in the estimate) and cooling (8,085 BTU cited) for the south wing down to the conference room.

S2 moved to approve the repairs and replacement as proposed by Comfort Systems; the motion was seconded by Committee member (speaker S3) and approved by voice vote. The transcript records the estimate as $17,112 and indicates commissioners signaled assent.

Officials noted the Comfort Systems price does not include some electrical hookup work. S2 told the board an electrician had advised he could source power from existing circuits but that there would be additional, unspecified electrician fees to complete connections.
