The Cosmopolis City Council confirmed two planning-commission appointees and administered the oath of office March 19.
Mayor Springham introduced the appointees and asked each to stand. Jeff Gordon said, “I’m Jeff Gordon. I’m a public health and safety psychologist,” and summarized his background in federal law enforcement, the Coast Guard Reserve and FEMA liaison work. Brian Gish introduced himself as “Brian Gish, the store manager at the Evoque,” and said he moved to Cosmopolis in 2021 and hopes to bring a new perspective to planning issues.
Both appointees repeated the oath to support the U.S. Constitution, the state constitution and the ordinances of the City of Cosmopolis and to faithfully perform the duties of planning commissioner. Council members welcomed the new commissioners and asked them to sign paperwork after the meeting.
What’s next: the planning commission will be positioned to resume regular monthly meetings as the council works through a comprehensive stormwater plan and cemetery capacity issues noted earlier in the meeting.
