The Goldendale City Council held a second reading and adopted Ordinance 15-52 on March 16 to change the speed limit on North Columbus from the Little Quicotac River bridge to the north city limits.
A councilmember moved to adopt the ordinance amending section 10.12.0.02 of the Goldendale Municipal Code; the motion was seconded and passed by voice vote. The council confirmed enforcement will begin once new signs are posted.
A resident calling in during open public comment, Roger Nichols of The Dalles, asked whether enforcement would be immediate; the chair and the police chief said the change becomes enforceable when signage is installed.
