City parks staff presented the proposed summer 2026 program schedule and participant fees for the Placerville aquatic center and the council approved the item April 28. Parks staff said the 2026 season will extend swim lessons from nine to 10 weeks and continue regular offerings such as deep-water aerobics, aqua walking and swim lessons intended to keep lessons affordable. The proposed schedule and new participant fees would take effect June 27, 2026.
"We’re doing 10 weeks of swim lessons this summer," parks staff said, adding that the adjustments offset staffing and other expenditures. Council members thanked staff for maintaining affordability and emphasized the importance of swim lessons in a county with many lakes and rivers. No public commenters spoke during the hearing; the council moved, seconded and approved the item by roll call.
