Clerk/Treasurer Kelly Strecker briefed the City of Laurel Budget and Finance Committee on administrative and financial matters at the April 14 meeting.
Strecker said third-quarter financial reports, including transit third-quarter reports, have been completed. She reported that union negotiations with Union 316 began March 31–April 1, 2026, did not finish and are scheduled to continue April 21. Strecker said the city has put a new garbage truck out to bid and that staff completed a fiscal analysis of the garbage fund before soliciting bids.
Strecker said the FY24/25 audit has been completed and the city is awaiting the final draft. She added that budget paperwork for fiscal year 2026–27 will be distributed to department heads this week or next to begin the budget process.
