Willows council adopts SB1 project list; Oak Street selected as new project
Summary
Council adopted a resolution April 28 submitting the FY 2026–27 SB1 road‑maintenance project list and recommending use of approximately $167,000 in state SB1 funds for local repaving projects, including Oak Street (Murdoch to Lassen) and carryover projects expected to be constructed this summer.
The Willows City Council on April 28 adopted a resolution recommending a list of road maintenance projects for fiscal year 2026–27 to receive SB1 (Road Repair and Accountability Act) funds. City engineer Laurie Luiza told the council the city is expected to receive about $167,000 from SB1 next fiscal year and proposed projects include Oak Street (Murdoch to Lassen) and two previously authorized projects (Joan Manor and Murdoch to Marshall) that are nearing construction.
Luiza said some prior projects were funded but not completed before the July 1 deadline and that remaining funds rolled into this year’s list; she noted the city had planning and technical assistance grant funding that offset about $60,000 of design costs for Oak and Madrone Street designs. Council called for timely completion of the projects and the resolution was approved by roll call (ayes recorded by the clerk).
