Bolingbrook Arts Council approves agenda, plans Black History Month, summer arts installations and Earth Day participation

The Bolingbrook Arts Council convened in the Village Boardroom on Feb. 3, 2026, and adopted the meeting agenda and the Jan. 20 minutes by voice vote. Chair Mithra Zaucha opened the meeting and offered condolences for commissioner Jason Arthur’s recent loss; she also introduced meeting guest Larry Devereux, who expressed interest in joining the council.
The council’s officers reported several operational items. Treasurer Ocie Koonce said printed calendars were delayed, so the council secured and will distribute booklets for Black History Month and confirmed event space. Secretary Kathleen Lamb reminded commissioners that overlapping conversations make recordkeeping difficult and asked for clearer discussion management.
