Skyview Excavation proposes trailer at water district; town to draft contract and evaluate separate meter

The Woodruff town board held a remote discussion with Kevin, a representative of Skyview Excavation, about placing a contractor office trailer on town property near the water district and about how to run power so the town pump would not be compromised.
Kevin (speaker S3) described plans to bring a grader to level a spot behind the water district, set a trailer where it would not impede doors and either hook into the town meter (and pay the bill) or install a separate temporary pole or meter. “We would plan on bringing our grader in and level the place out a little bit…run power over to our trailer,” Kevin said. He added the company would place a conex for tools and avoid blocking access to the building.
Town staff raised reliability concerns for the pump house. A committee member cautioned that tying the trailer into the pump meter could cause interference or voltage drops when equipment runs, risking the pump. The board therefore discussed running a separate meter or a different service leg to isolate the trailer load; Kevin said he would check with the power company about code and options.
Kevin gave a project schedule that currently extends to Feb. 8, 2027, though he warned winter weather could pause work for a couple of months. The board agreed Kevin should draft a contract to present to the town; Kevin said UDOT would also require documentation that the town had discussed placement. No formal lease or rent was approved at the meeting.
Action items: the contractor will follow up with the power company on metering options, Kevin will prepare a draft contract for the town to review, and the town will evaluate whether to require a separate meter to protect the pumping infrastructure.
