Jessie Wentz, owner of Cut and Loose LLC, told attendees that she has operated her salon in East Palestine Village since 2016 and recently relocated from Main Street to Taggart Street.
Wentz said she provides "men, women, and children's haircuts" and aims to keep prices at a point "where people were comfortable," so residents need not travel outside of town for basic services. She described the new space as "a pretty neat space" shared in a building renovation with Lenny from Hammer and Ink, who operates a tattooing business next door.
Wentz, who said she graduated from East Palestine in 2007, described returning to her roots after working elsewhere. "I feel like this is home," she said, adding that her work is "so much more than hair" and centers on community and relationships.
She provided current hours and scheduling notes: she typically works four days a week and is currently in the shop Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and asked customers to reach out on Facebook for flexible appointment times. Wentz also noted her pricing board reads "therapy free."
The remarks were a local business spotlight emphasizing small-business continuity, community ties and storefront collaboration in East Palestine Village. Wentz did not propose any formal action or request a vote; she presented information about her business and services and indicated ways residents can contact her.
