County staff said the county issued an RFP in 2024 and entered agreements with three contractors for disaster debris services; the county used one vendor during the most recent major storm. Staff asked the board to renew agreements to maintain backups if a primary contractor is unavailable.
Commissioners asked whether state or federal assistance affected costs. Staff said the Army Corps sometimes provides assistance through contractors, but that county-negotiated rates compared favorably to Army Corps rates. Vendors declined to reduce prices but agreed to hold current levels; staff said that meant no price increase from the prior year.
The chair called the vote after a motion and second, and commissioners approved the renewals by voice vote with no opposition.
