At its Oct. 16 meeting the Danbury Planning Commission handled several routine but consequential procedural matters: it continued two public hearings and forwarded two referrals to the zoning commission or city counsel for further action.
The commission continued the public hearing for the Riedel Deal Realty LLC application for a Grenadier sales/service/collision center at 17 Myra Brook Road to Nov. 6, 2024, citing outstanding traffic, engineering and fire‑marshal reviews. It also continued a separate public hearing for 3775 LLC (a proposed nine‑house cluster subdivision on Pembroke Road) to the Nov. 6 meeting after the applicant requested a continuance.
On referrals, the commission voted to send a proposed zoning text amendment — which would add minimum lot sizes and a 500‑foot sensitivity buffer for dependency treatment centers in the CA‑80 zone — to the zoning commission with a positive recommendation. The commission also approved a positive referral concerning clarification of a sewer extension easement language (an 824 referral from the city council), with staff noting corporation counsel must approve final form before filing.
The meeting concluded after the chair called for any other business; a motion to adjourn passed and the session ended.
