The Sumner School District board approved two instructional materials adoptions for English learner support during its March 17 meeting after the administration recommended them through Michelle Lewis, executive director of learning and innovation.
The board adopted Bridges to Literature and Content for English learner support in grades 6–8; the item had its first reading at the Feb. 17 board meeting. The chair asked for a motion, the motion was made and seconded, and the board approved the adoption by voice vote.
The board also adopted 'Get Ready' for English learner support in grades 6–12, again on the administration's recommendation and following its prior first reading on Feb. 17. Both adoptions were approved without further debate during the meeting.
The transcript and meeting remarks do not include publisher names, adoption effective dates beyond the board action, or detailed implementation timelines and professional development plans; those details typically appear in the instructional materials packet or subsequent staff reports.
