The Township of Ocean Board of Education recognized multiple student and staff achievements during its meeting. The district honored the intermediate school literary magazine team for a superior rating in an annual contest, announced geography bee winners (first-place sixth grader Jackson Molnar and runner-up Vitali Berta) and presented winners of the spelling bee for certificates and photos.
Superintendent Kelly Weldon introduced honorees and asked winners to join the dais for photographs. The board also recognized a student who placed and medaled in Central Bowling Regional Special Olympics events and celebrated staff members who earned tenure after four years of service and successful evaluations.
Board members and community attendees offered congratulations to students, supervisors and educators; the meeting included remarks about the pride the district takes in extracurricular and academic accomplishments. The board noted retirements that will be formally recognized at the end of the school year.
