Vacaville Unified introduces incoming superintendent Sasha Beagle and other administrators

The Vacaville Unified governing board used part of its meeting to introduce new district leaders, culminating with the selection of Sasha Beagle as the next superintendent.

Board presenters announced Fletcher Riches as the new assistant principal at Jepson Middle School; Riches, introduced from the stage, described prior teaching and administrative roles with an emphasis on bilingual family engagement. Maria Mesias was introduced as assistant principal at Markham Elementary and said she looks forward to supporting early literacy and working with families and staff.

The board also introduced Dr. Shayla (Jayla) Bowman as the district’s new director of human resources. Bowman thanked the board and said she is honored to serve in the role for the 2026–27 school year.
