The Alameda County Board of Supervisors Personal Administration Legislative Committee on Monday agreed to forward to the full board a recommendation to support certain federal measures and recorded several informational items.
Chair Carson said the Health Department recommended support for HR 77354 (Kelly Protect Black Women and Girls Act) and that a county letter had been sent in support of a separate federal proposal cited by the Health Department. "Not hearing any, then we'll move that to the full board," Chair Carson said, forwarding the recommendation.
The committee also received an informational report about a state legislative letter supporting access to a home- and community-based assisted living waiver for Medi-Cal beneficiaries experiencing homelessness; that letter was prepared by both the Social Services Agency and the Health Agency executive directors.
Separately, the probation department submitted a proposal to name the Mid-County facility technology lab the Richard Valle Technology Lab; the chief probation officer sent that letter to the board for consideration.
Why it matters: The forwarded recommendation will make the Health Department’s federal support positions part of the full board’s agenda. The state waiver item and the naming proposal were noted as informational items and will follow the board’s normal review process.
No formal roll-call votes were recorded during the committee; items were forwarded or noted for the full board as described.
Ending: The committee adjourned after confirming the administrative actions and offering holiday wishes.
