Board elects officers, schedules April preapplication days and hears wind‑turbine repowering notice

On Jan. 26 the Dickinson County Board of Adjustment elected its officers for the year, asked members to hold April 27–28 for preapplication meetings, and heard that Iowa Electric will repower wind turbines near Superior with blades about 30 feet longer.
At its Jan. 26 meeting the Dickinson County Board of Adjustment elected officers for the year: Jeff Ashland was chosen chairman, Alex Oponski vice chairman and Douglas Westerman secretary. Westerman also nominated Lee McKim, the county zoning assistant, to take meeting minutes.
The board unanimously approved the Dec. 8, 2025 minutes.
Planning & Zoning Administrator Megan Kardell asked members to review their calendars for two preapplication days in April (April 27 and 28). Kardell also reported that Iowa Electric is repowering wind turbines near Superior and that the project will replace blades with ones roughly 30 feet longer; board members discussed the repowering briefly and were asked to hold the dates for preapplication sessions.
The meeting adjourned after routine business.
