The Ellis County Commissioners Court voted to approve an easement with the City of Waxahachie and Alpine Start Development that will allow utility work on a portion of the Ellis County Farm (parcel ID 100 And 93411), subject to final legal review and recording.
County staff explained the easement would allow the developer to run a sewer line along the property line of the county farm down into Coal Creek to connect to the City of Waxahachie’s sewer main. Commissioners noted the matter had been discussed previously and that a minute order dated 06/27/2023 referenced the arrangement; staff said the easement had not previously been executed or recorded. The developer will compensate the county for the easement; staff cited a prior valuation of $88,000 for the parcel area involved.
The court approved the easement subject to final legal review and asked staff to provide the final recorded instrument once available.
