Alberto Maras, Ellis County director of development, told the court the developer — through authorized agent Travis Tekell — proposes 10 lots, “2 off of the FM Road and 8 off of Weekly branch,” and will deposit $28,779 into an escrow account as part of the agreement. Maras said the agreement includes eight conditions similar to those used for a recent Judy’s Lane project and that staff recommended approval as presented.
The court’s motion to approve the agreement was made and seconded by commissioners and carried unanimously. Maras described the post‑approval steps: once signed on the county’s end the developer will provide a notarized agreement and the check will be delivered to the county treasurer to be held in escrow.
The agreement authorizes the county judge to execute the document on the county’s behalf. The county did not specify a construction timeline in today’s discussion; staff said any additional project details or documentation would be brought back to the court if needed.
