Board suspends February deadline for superintendent evaluation, schedules strategic planning with TSBA

The chair moved to suspend the February deadline in policy 5.803 for calendar year 2026; the motion was seconded by Mister Babcock and passed. Board members noted that state law requires an annual evaluation, and the suspension adjusts only the board's self-imposed February timeline for this calendar year.
An administrator told the board TSBA will handle the strategic planning session and the evaluation processes; staff proposed April 15 for the strategic planning session and said TSBA would then distribute evaluation materials to the board and superintendent. Several board members, including Miss Stevenson, expressed concern about scheduling all three processes immediately before the budget season.
