Dozens of students from Maury County schools were recognized at the Nov. 4 board meeting for earning perfect scores on TCAP and EOC exams. Presenters called the achievement "nothing short of amazing" and invited administrators and families to the dais for handshakes and photos.
The district announced honorees school by school, naming students from Baker Elementary, Battle Creek Elementary and Middle, Cox Middle, Hawkes Middle, Kuleoka Unit, Howell Elementary, Mount Pleasant Elementary and Middle, Santa Fe Unit School, Spring Hill Elementary and Middle, Whitthorn Middle, Woodard Elementary, Wright Elementary and others. Presenters noted many of the tests have 30 to 58 questions and praised students, parents, teachers and support staff for the results.
The audience gave a standing ovation to the group; presenters encouraged students to continue working and congratulated families and educators.
The recognitions were scheduled as part of the meeting agenda and followed immediately by a short recess.
