David Moore was elected chair of the Maury County School Board during the board'7s Nov. 4, 2025, meeting, members said, following nominations and a voice vote. Will Sims was elected vice chair, Christian Scholl was selected as chair pro tem and Sue Stevenson was confirmed as the board'7s legislative liaison and the district'7s TLN representative.
The officer slate was moved and seconded during the meeting after members nominated candidates. The chair recorded vote totals as the votes were taken aloud: Moore received six affirmative votes in the chair election; Sims received seven votes for vice chair; and Scholl was confirmed as chair pro tem with seven votes. The chair then read the full slate aloud before members confirmed the appointments.
Board members immediately moved to adopt the meeting agenda; Mr. McGee made the motion and Miss Brown seconded it. The agenda passed by voice vote. The board also approved the consent items listed on the agenda without further discussion.
The officer elections, agenda adoption and consent approvals were routine items on the board'7s regular meeting agenda. No motions to reconsider or amendments were recorded in the transcript.
The board continued directly into recognitions of student test achievements and later new-business discussion on the TISA accountability report.
