Three Lakes School District outlines summer construction, athletic field and parking improvements

A school district staff member provided a weekly facilities update for the week of April 27–May 1, saying the district is preparing for summer construction that will affect classrooms, athletic facilities and campus signage.

The staff member, who did not identify themself by name or official title, said big boxes were delivered and staff have begun packing items from construction areas so work can begin after the last day of the school year. "Everything in the construction areas needs to be boxed up before the last day of the school year, so please pardon our mess as we get ready for this next phase," the staff member said.

District crews plan a mix of interior and exterior work. Inside buildings, the staff member said the district expects new carpeting, new windows and new cabinets in some areas, with paint to be applied depending on the location. The update listed more technical work as well: mudding in the elementary office, additional plumbing in bathrooms, and significant electrical work and insulation.

Outside, the staff member said the outdoor sign at Sugar Camp has been disconnected and "will be off from now through the summer." Athletic field improvements also began this week, the update said, and trees were removed along Winkler Road to prepare for a new parking lot. The staff member described the parking change as intended to provide more accessible parking for events.
